Bike Philly, Sept 13

Sunday, Sept 13 project...TD Bank Bike Philly

So, we decided that this weekend, our service project will be with TD Bank's Bike Philly. Our volunteering shift is on SUNDAY, Sept 13 from 8am to 12pm. We will be riding the train to 30th Street Station, so we will be meeting at the Swarthmore train station at 8:25am (the train leaves at 8:31) and will hopefully be back by 1 or 2pm.

A bit of overview about the event:
Bike Philly (see website) is a family and environmentally-friendly bike tour that begins in Center Philly and winds through Fairmount Park. It is hosted by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting bicycling as a "healthy, low-cost, and environmentally-friendly form of transportation and recreation". There are over 300 people who will be volunteering for this event - so it's a big deal.

What we'll be doing:
Since 10+ of us have said we are going, we will probably be split into two groups. We'll be stationed at Eakins Oval at the base of the Art Museum, where the bike routes start and finish. There's a "Finish Line Festival" with food, music, and exhibits for the bikers at Eakins Oval that we will most likely be helping with (set-up, clean-up, whatever they want us to do).

**Here's the most important part:
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING, I NEED YOU TO EMAIL US ASAP so that we can obtain SEPTA tickets for everyone and let the coordinators know how many people to expect.

Even if you signed up at the meeting, you still need to email to confirm that you are coming.
